I was speaking at the Digital & AI Coaches’ Conference recently, and some of the sessions really got me thinking about how AI is impacting both coaching — and our clients.
The pace of AI is extraordinary – even experts say they’re struggling to keep up.
So if you feel behind… you’re not alone.
A few stats that really stood out:
- 47% of executives say their companies are moving too slowly due to leadership misalignment
- Over 50% of organisations report no measurable value from AI (yet)
So the issue isn’t the technology.
It’s leadership capability.
Which is exactly where coaching becomes incredibly relevant.
But here’s what I found most interesting:
Between 2024 and 2025, AI usage at work increased by 32%…
Yet confidence in using it dropped by 18%.
So the more people use AI, the less confident many feel.
The real challenge isn’t adoption.
It’s learning how to work alongside AI in a way that actually adds value.
Which raises important questions for us as coaches.
One speaker said it simply:
Don’t try to compete with AI. Learn to leverage it.
That really stayed with me.
And alongside that:
It won’t be enough to simply be a good coach.
We also need to know how to build a sustainable coaching business.
Because as AI evolves, we may need to:
- Refine our business model
- Revisit our niche
- Adapt how we deliver value
There’s a lot of change in our profession right now…
But there are also real opportunities emerging.
With big thanks to Sam Isaacson, and fellow speakers Navid Nazemian, Jordan Rodger and Charlotte Jordan.
